February Gratitude and Lesssons

Happy March! February was a long month and felt even longer than January for me. I had a lot of disappoints last month but still found plenty of things to be grateful for and many lessons were learned.

In February I Was Grateful…

  • for my partner
  • that my parents helped me when I was having car trouble
  • for the newest Avengers: EndGame TV spot
  • for the few times that I was able to get my homework done early
  • for the Fyre Festival documentaries on Netflix and Hulu
  • for cheese and crackers and pepperoni
  • that I finished my taxes
  • for my cat Chloe
  • for bees
  • that I was offered a new position at my current workplace

In February I Learned…

  • transparency isn’t helpful when it only comes in bits and pieces
  • that taking a day off is necessary
  • that flexibility is key to growth
  • sometimes working is a welcome distraction
  • the illusion of power is seductive
  • to not underestimate the power of genuine connection
  • people who lack identity can often have one forced upon them
  • speak up/out if you feel that something is unfair
  • you are not responsible for how people process their feelings
  • skills are transferrable if they’re thought of in new ways

Gratitude journaling is one way that I practice self-care as well as thinking about what I've learned through the month. Read this to learn more about how you can practice gratitude journaling and what I was grateful for in the month of February.
